Malta, the british eating-paradise?

This summer I went to Malta for a week with my dad and sisters. I’ve never visited there before so everything about the country was new to me. In fact.. I didn’t know anything about it before, not even where it was.. (ok, I did know it was a mediterranean island). These countries around the mediterranean sea share one thing in their cultures – great food cultures! Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, Spain…

But.. what did we meet in Malta? Well, since they’ve been a british colony.. BRITISH FOOD… ugh! (If you can call it food)

I’ve never been to England, so I didn’t know much about their food (except fish n’chips). For example, I had no idea about that you could eat five burned toasts with baked beans on for breakfast, or that cheese could taste so cheap that it was completely impossible for me to eat it. (oh! and weird cheese – it had no holes!) And I didn’t know that cakes coould get so huge or that Jelly could have it’s on space in the shop…

Anyway, travelling is two things combined – expirience and learning. See, the culture is always different and we can learn from differences, or as in this case – get warned. Of the other guests at the hotel we were staying at, almost all of them were british. So they liked the food, or well.. they ate a lot. Now, here’s the thing – I’ve never seen unhealthy habits and bad health being shown with such a tight bond between ’em…

The people were fat –  really fat, had bad teeth and lots and lots of naevus… It was like, you could see how these people ate themselves towards their death. And worst of all – you could clearly see how this behaviour got passed on to further generations. Overweight children…  I feel sorry for them, because their body, their whole life is ruined…

You can say whatever you want about people wanting and being happy with a big body – but it is proven that the body, the entire system gets damaged and the length of your life will decrease.

And I don’t think those children would walk that path if they could make the decision…
